Hey guys, I'm new here but I've been a player of the Civilization games for a couple of years now. It's about time I found a site and some boards to accomidate for this. Anyway, as a fellow vBulletin owner, I'd like to ask why these boards haven't been upgraded from version 2.0.0 to 2.0.3. As you may have probably heard, there are some security holes that are fixed in 2.0.3 as well as some bug fixes. Just wondering

a) I doubt it Eli, unless the long reply I just made in the CtP2 forum is completely in vain, in which case I am very annoyed
b) More constructivly, baragon, try the Apolyton/Community forumConcrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

Umm, after doing a little web search I would suggest you upgrade. Like, NOW.
edit: turns out what I had seen was a hole in the 2.0.0 beta.Last edited by Thue; August 24, 2001, 19:35.http://www.hardware-wiki.com - A wiki about computers, with focus on Linux support.

I am getting the feeling you people don't know upgrading is free. Anyway, from what I've heard, I know very little about all of this, is that version 2.0.0 had many bugs that are fixed in 2.0.3 and that 2.0.0 also had a security issue that was resolved in 2.0.3.

We don't own this site. You should direct your question/query towards MarkG or DanQ. This thread should be been moved to the Apolyton forum.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

baragon0:
We appreciate your concern regarding the version status of our forums Powered by Ming. There are two primary reasons an upgrade has not been performed from v2.0.0 to v2.0.3: first, we made a number of tweaks to v2.0.0 of vB that it can perhaps be better described as a "custom v2.0.0" or what have you. Second, an upgrade of the forums of this size is a time consuming and prepatory heavy task. This does not mean that the forums will never be upgraded -- on the contrary -- but rather that the updates must be deemed sufficient enough to do so.
If you wish, please elaborate on why you feel we should upgrade to v2.0.3 by emailing Markos and I directly.
