why is it called spam, i actually like the Tinned meat called spam which is from SPiced HAM....

and what constitutes the differnce betweeen SPAM and posters opinions ...

Which means that spam is getting what you do not want, and lots of it.

The difference between spam and posters opinions is that spamming is done to accomplish one or more of these goals:

1) Raise post count

2) Scrub (what a word to use in this place) the discussion so that it can't be continued.

4) Scrub a whole forum.

5) Raise post count

6) Make people interesting on something you are selling (mostly e-mail spam)
