  • FAO MarkG: Civ 3 Colour Scheme?

I love the Civ3 colour scheme so much, it's so elegant...

I was wondering if I could use it on my forums

    Uncade Int.

Can you give it mein the form of like it is in the Control Panel....

This would be a huge help to me...

    Thanks.

Matt, if you want to copy the colors just do View => Source and look at the HTML code. There's no need to ask the admins, your browser will give you the info you're looking for.

That's not how I read his post. I think he's just asking for information but of course, he can clarify if he posts again in this thread.

On the issue of permission: Matt doesn't need Apolyton's permission to use the same colors. There's nothing proprietary about colors in an HTML page. (If he asked to use custom images like the logo, that would be different of course.)

one often sees copyright notes on javascript code. why is html code(and thus color schemes) different?

I would have thought that there have been suffficient successful 'look and feel' suits in the US and elsewhere to more than adequately support Mark's stance. Moreover, I find it rather sad that when someone has the courtesy to ask, he should be encouraged to steal! -- but, then, that could be why I'm a 'Pollytubbie'.

Actually of course I want to ask admin's permission. They probably spent a bit of time to get this looking right. I can't just steal it.
