Why does Apolyton have to update the Civilization III section with every new preview, even when it's the exact same information as the last preview?

Even on the site itself, the poster states something along the line, "although this is the same information as . . ." Come on -- this is ridiculous!
I prefer NOT to have every preview posted on the site unless it has some meaningful, new information, thank you very much.

How do others feel about this crap?

The news item was posted before it was clear to the person who posted it that it was indeed the same text as earlier. That sentence was edited in after that was made clear to him. Another good reason for keeping it in was that the earlier preview referenced was in a magazine, and therefore not accessible to everyone.

Think before you post, man.

I like having access to all things related to the making of civ 3, even if it's a single column with some text that is the same as in another posting.

There is no need to start flaming about it, MrFun. And if you wish to make the statement anyway the correct place to do so would be the Community Forum. There is absolutely no need to adopt a semi-mocking sarcastic tone either.

First of all, you are blowing this out of proportion. Yes, the text of the GameSpot UK preview was equal to that that was posted in an earlier preview. I will admit then when the story was first posted I neglected to make this fact clear, and as such modified the story accordingly.

That said, one may have missed something when they read the preview before as it was referenced from the "original" news item. Also, some people have missed the news of the preview when it was 'hot'. Finally, the preview does indeed contain a comprehensive collection of screenshots even if some of them are already "old school".

Again, the article states at the beginning that it is a reiteration of a previous preview and that previous preview is named. This information is there from the onset so that you can skip past the story should you wish to based on that fact.

I think it's a waste of time and space of the Civilization III site. That is my opinion, anyway.

What I really DID like though, was the mini-slide show on how resources work on Firaxi's own site. I like the colonies concept!

Ummmm....Not the same as you on this. Hardly worthy of consideration. It took much longer to post your frutration than it did to read it and decide it was a silly waste of time. A mis-directed display of anger IMHO.

This is a site dedicated to Civ. If I lived in the UK, I might like to know there is a magazine published with cool pictures and and 4 page review of the new game.

Since I'm one of those who missed it the 1st time around (obviously, since I created a thread about it) I'm happy that they put it there. It would have been nice had they stated it was old info, since then I wouldn't have bothered with the thread.

Now Mark's or Dan's choice of words for the next news item could stand some attention. "Poos" Meier? Nice choice of words, guys. How about "piddles on"? Shows what a class act this place can be.

And while we're on the subject of complaining, I dislike the letter "a" being bigger then the rest of the letters in the apolyton title. It repulses me. Those poor other letters, they must not feel too important............
