  • Threads too Long

When a thread is closed because it is too long, it would be nice if a last post was added that said something like "This thread was closed because it became too long."
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

― C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man

what example do you speak of? It is common knowledge threads get locked when they reach 150 posts.

Other threads only get locked/deleted because the mods like to show off their power.

Well if it is a long thread and it has 150 ish posts in it and closed, I just automatically assume it has reached it's limit...

Excellent Mark! Then I had no powers, anyway. Now, who's more of a madman - Mingy or me?

                Let's see:

Ming - been admin 18 months and acts like he owns the place
Solver - been admin a week and acts like he owns the place

                You tell me

Let me make one thing perfectly clear.
While some of us have been granted admin powers to better function in our roles at Apolyton, there are only TWO Real Admins to this site, MarkG and DanQ. While some of us may have fancy titles and limited powers, they are the Co-Administrators.

As far as owning the place, I disagree. While I have been given pretty much a free hand to do the job they gave me, I take my marching orders from them. I have disagreed with them in the past, and when it's all done and said, I do what I'm told to do. Because that is part of the job description I agreed to when I took the position. I enforce their rules, not mine

Whoah, sorry Ming, must have touched a nerve there - didn't mean it like that. Of course, I don't doubt you do a great job, and many other here say the same....I didn't mean it that seriously. Honest.

I act like owning the place? Well, that's how I like to act, but I've done nothing great thus far. Only closing old threads, and moving SMAC threads from CtP forums , where they for some reason got posted, to SMAC forums. .
