  • Alphabetical Browsing...?

Hey folks, just a thought, but would there be any way to list those 'browsing the boards' in alphabetical order? I like seeing my name first, but then if I want to check if any other particular members are currently online, there's nothing for it but to read through every name!

Yes, usually you must seek through each name, and I know it's tough when there are 100 people online. Sorry, no other way.

BS. Don't tell me there is no other way. It probably takes 10 lines of code to sort alphabetically.

the " who's online" feature lists the people who were on the forum in the last 30 minutes. the list is sorted according to the time it has passed since his last action on the forum. if we sort alphabetically, the list will loose it's value since it will by much more difficult to really know if someone is online or not

The answer is painfully obvious. Do a first sort by wether people were on in last 30 minutes. Do the second sort (within this displayed group) alphabetically.

Oops, sorry to have provoked an argument - not the intention! Just a very minor, idle query...

I actually like it the way it is. It isn't that hard to scan the names. What would be a worthy additon is a feature that shows where everyone is at. I mean if I'm in the AC Fiction forum, I may not be responsive to personal attacks err I mean informative queries in the OT.

When I clicked on "Who's Browsing the Boards" I was really happy to see a nice list of where all the mods are(n't) . But what does the list display if someone, as I frequently do, has two or more windows open at once in more than one forum?
                      Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

If you have more than one window open I believe it shows the forum of the last page you opened.
