To test to see where the slowndown may be -- be it on your end, or ours, and from the sound of things it's probably the latter (I've had no problems in recent memory), perform a traceroute.
To do this, make sure you're connected to the Internet, open MS-DOS and type in 'tracert apolyton.net' at the command prompt and make note of the output.
I've also had slow access to Apolyton recently. Here's my output from tracert:

My impression is that a lot of the slowness seems to come from the ads. Once they are loaded the rest of the page comes up reasonably quick. But if we had simpler text and branching threads tha would help too.
Actually ads aren't the fault here, it's apolyton.
I have AtGuard 3.22 (aka Norton Internet Security) and it workes like a proxy filtering ads from the source code before getting to my browser.

And Apolyton has been slower than usual in the last week or so.

Heff off!
Actually the past few days I have been suffering from Apolyton being very slow. I was inaccessible at points. Then at others it was fine, fairly speedy...

It all depends upon your neck of the woods, your actual connection, what time it is, how much traffic is on the pipe (in other words, referring to major backbones upon which there is more than just Apolyton/GameStats). All I am saying is not to assume that the slowdown is all at our end, although certainly that's part of it.
If you can, try accessing Apolyton during the part the day that you find its fastest/most reliable to visit us if you're that all concerned. This may take a little experimentation, but if it's speed you're worried about you can work around it somewhat with this method.
