  • Should Apolyton use vBB instead of UBB?

Just came from the Europa Universalis site and recently they switched to a new forum type. I was stunned! It was superquick, much easier to do polls in the thread, better looking, and had much more options for your personal profile.

What was the forum type? vBB! Many new sites have been used this one instead of the UBB type used by Apolyton. And the best thing is UBB posts and threads CAN BE transfered to vBB

    Here is their website: http://www.vbulletin.com/

And here is an example of vBB at work: http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I completely agree. What's more, MarkG was clearly hinting at this about three months ago. Now Version 2 is here, no reason at all not to switch! Viva PHP and MySQL!

Sounds like a good idea. Will enable shifting over to branched thread format. Good work, Imran.

Branched thread? Where do you get that crazy idea from? Did you look at the example forum?

I hate to be the one to break the news to you guys, but that should be BTA....

On the topic, the board they use at civilopedia also looks cool.

I wouldn't be opposed to a new board if it works for the admins, but I think that the current board is great and while I don't have as many posts as you all, I have no gripes with the system. So I'll vote to keep the current board, just so that I won't have to re-register or anything like that.

Plus, the titles that everyone has worked so hard in the OT form to get will be gone in a quick puff of smoke if we change boards.
