  • Post Count Reductions for the Site Owners

In the interests of the site owners understanding the implications of the punitive measures they impose on posters, upward appraisal is all the rage in business these days don't you know, I suggest that PCR's be imposed on the site owners whenever the site goes down. The rate could be say 100 posts per hour the site is down.

Anyone else think this is a good idea? I would be interested in any suggestions people may have on how the banning regime could imposed on Mark and Dan too. Gamestats would probably benefit from forms of discipline too, as would the mods.

I hope this suggestion is treated in the spirit in which it is intended.

To be fair, I believe this is a great idea. But to be absolutely fair, I think Ming should be included in this as well. Just for fairness sake.

Heheheh... AH, you are a genius! PCRs for Mark... Let's spare Dan though . He's not the technical guy (and he's nice ).

Yeah, buy Ming to be totally fair you would have to be included. I mean this site is about being fair. Isn't it?

            Do you want another PCR?

And yes, this is a great idea.

Excellent idea, but doesn't go far enough. Week-long ban for each time would seem like a fitting punishment. I wonder what kind of 'routine maintenance' has to be done once per two days.

what you get is the standard message that ubb has. it just means that the forum is closed. it does not necessarily mean that whatever is being done is "routine"....

Just be glad they haven't upgraded to the latest version. One of the boards I frequent did so about a week ago. It now gives that message several times a day.

Do you or have you ever run a website? If so, you should already know that what you suggest is ludicrous. If you don't run a website, then let me assure you that even the idea of what you suggest is ridiculous.

Servers are designed and maintained by people. The networks that connect these servers to other servers and so on were installed and are maintained by people also. People are imperfect... you can draw the answer to this equation on your own.

                          Enough said.

This is a stupid Idea Horse, I can not support it no matter how nicely you ask me . Give Mark and Dan a PCR because someone else stuffs up, that would be like banning Ming everytime Mao stuffed up.
