CYBERAmazon, I generally appreciate the even-handedness of the people in charge too, no doubt there. - And your opinion on the post counts is duely noted.

I just think the present post count system is counterproductive to the quality of the debates. I've touched on why I think so in the first posts of this thread.

AH, so would you care to share your divine thoughts on the question at hand? Or are you too busy trolling for special titles?

It seems like there is a general attitude of apathy on this subject

Thus spoke a member of the crumbling minority who wants to keep the post counts.

Come on folks, here's your chance to prove Ming wrong! Let's have some more opinions on the issue of post counts (keep them, drop them or indifferent).

I have hesitated very much if I shall post here or not. I don't want to lose my settler status.

              I am against post counts.
If you want them too much, set just one degree (50 posts for example) and use some neutral titles.

50? But this is not fun!

5000 is more reasonable if your idea is implemented.

                  Eli,
Who said anything about fun? This is about finding a way around the post count obsessive spamming that tends to disrupt the forums and cause some posters to act like little children in a candy shop... Not fun at all.
