Posted it here, cause this was the forum I noticed it.
When there is a sticky thread in one forum and no one has posted in it for a long time, the date of the sticky thread will display on the forum summary page. In this case January 19th.
Guess the script looks for the date of the topmost thread but with sticky threads this is not the way to do.

what you observed happens when a thread from a forum with a top-ed thread is deleted. in that case, until there is a new post, the forum summary will show the last post date of the top-ed thread
