  • Re: UGO Lowering Ad Revenues

I hate to bring up UGO again, but are you looking into switching to on of the other ad providers now that UGO is no longer the best-paying on the market? I know my Other Gaming Site, www.mixnmojo.xom recently did so with the minimum of fuss and a great increase in revenue as a result. Is Apolyton under contractual obligation to use UGO (with Gamestats)?

Gamestats continues to sell our main ad space(according to our deal) wherever they consider best(and part of our "success" is thanks to their managment) and is continuing with UGO

beyond that, can you tell me what your banner rotation script is?

It's not mine as such, I meant the other site I regularly visit. Sorry. I don't know what script they use exactly, but I remember them changing it a while ago.

Is Apolyton permitted to accept other adds in addition to those comissioned by gamestats?

Maybe DanQ could "weigh" in here? J/K He is the replacement for JusticeT. I bet he knows a lot of juicy stuff...

Without getting into too many details, Apolyton and other GameStats affiliates are allowed to pursue other advertising venues in addition to UGO. Affiliates are still required to carry the UGO code as has been the case for more than 1 1/2 years running.

Dan, without wishing to pry into business details, can you give us an indication of the GameStats arrangement with UGO? Would it be difficult to 'shop around' for a better ad provider?

Obviously, from a visitor point of view, fewer advertisements are better, and with all the hard work you guys put in I wouldn't want to see you deprived of income that you are capable of getting.

I'm afraid I cannot say anymore than I already have, Iain, other than this:

If you look at <A HREF="http://www.gamestats.com" TARGET="_new">GameStats.com</A>, you will see that there is additional advertising than just that of UGO.

That's okay... I wouldn't wish to pry. Like I said, I appreciate all the hard work you guys put in, and I'd hate to see you denied the reward you deserve unnecessarily. Keep up the good work!
