If the admins didn't approved, you'd have known about it by now. The thread would have been closed or deleted yonks ago...

It would be worthwhile to transfer some of the extant data from previous threads viz:
          http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum1/HTML/001327.html?75

I also started one on "Where do we come from?" in OT but I can't seem to find it in the current OT listing.

you could include time zone to the faq, it'd be quite useful

format: for the user name list, i suggest a table, main headings: User Name, Country, City/State, Time Zone. As for the location list, the way you have it may be the simplest format to go with.

edit: Maybe he's not from Melbourne, but it'll be close enough since he's got Victoria (the state) listed.

. Rather than a FAQ which requires much fiddling around to be useful, I would suggest an additional otional profile, assuming that is posible, with plenty of fields for whatever indetifying infromation the menber fells confortable to reveal to us (mad ravining maniacs). This would not require any entry or updates by the admin/moderators, it would tbe filled out by the member himself. Not being too familer with IT or the UBB in particular I do Not Know if this is posible either as an additional optional profile for the "real person" as as opposed to the "cyber personna"
or as additional fields to the existing profile. If two profiles are posibble, the existing "cyber one should contain all the cyber personna's info & humor and only such real info as is neccesary for to have membership. The optional real profile would have feild for id, addresses, contact numbers, birthdays, bio etc.
. If psoiible this could eliminate all the personel FAQs and their updates and other demands on the admin.

Good thinking, Lefty Scaevola. It's just that - speaking for myself only of course - I know I'd actually enjoy setting up a location FAQ like I've proposed here. (I'm not into legs exclusively - geography can make my day too ). And I think an FAQ would be darn useful too.

If only the admins would voice their opinion of my suggestion so I could get to work on it.

I know just the the area of specialisation: "The Geography of Legs"

On topic, I note that the "where are we" thread in Civ2-General is having a new lease of life. There's minable data being collected while we wait.
