  • change the topics back to branching threads

Please, DarkosQ. This new fangled stuff is hard to track. Much too chat room. Maybe make the serious forums branching thread?

I don't think a lot of people will be for the idea. My guess is that most like the fact that all the posts appear on the same page. The tree-structure type boards tend to have a lot of posts/posters which are ignored.

I just hate that style of forum. It takes too long to go through all the responses. I like this format much better!

If Apolyton would change to that format, I'd leave. And I bet I wouldn't be the only one. Far from it.
"Spirit merges with matter to sanctify the universe. Matter transcends to return to spirit. The interchangeability of matter and spirit means the starlit magic of the outermost life of our universe becomes the soul-light magic of the innermost life of our self." - Dennis Kucinich, candidate for the U. S. presidency
"That’s the future of the Democratic Party: providing Republicans with a number of cute (but not that bright) comfort women." - Adam Yoshida, Canada's gift to the world

That format is outdated, absurd, hard to read, work-heavy, and extremely unsuited for large forums. I'm with Stefu on this one.

I'd like to associate myself with Snapcase's comments. I don't think I particularly need to add anything.

Changing to branching threads would be a disaster. Would ruin the forums. And I believe Dan and Markos have previously said no to this.

Wow! Doesn't anybody agree with me?

                    1. Well the nice thing about the branching threads is that there is less repetition of content.
                    2. Also, you can look at the tree and see specificaly which posts you have not read.
                    3. Instead of having to load a whole thread, you load a post.
                    4. Forums like this tend to hav more thoughtful posts and less spam.

                      Blah, Blah, Blah...
It will be more difficult to read and post.
Now we see the whole thread and to read some previous mesage all we need is to go up.

Terrible idea gp. Those thread formats are terrible. I can't visit forums with that format its just too annoying and not user friendly.
