  • Crashes when using Hop to:

I have been getting crashes when using the Hop to: dialog box on two different computers intermitantly. In both cases I am using IE5. Just thought you should know, in case there is a problem. It only crashes IE, not the whole PC.

Yes, it sometimes crashes my browser too at work (IE 5, have to check later for the exact build). In fact, the browser sometimes crashes even when I move the cursor over the Go-button next to the Hop to-drop down menu. But only at work, no trouble from my home computer which uses IE 4.

Not much of an inconvenience though, since I'm used to hitting shortcut keys for jumping between forums.

Never had the problem. Ever. Using Netscape 4.6 on a Mac.

I had that a while ago as well, on parent's computer. It seems to be fault on only some computers. It just hangs, right? Nothing you can do? Same happens with Outlook Express (due to the IE pane)? If so, sorry looks like you'll have to use 3 or Netscape.

Yes, I have had these crashes on IE5 running on NT4SP5...and it is quite random...although on my home computer (win98, IE5.5) there is no problem whatsoever...

Never had that problem with NS 4.6x, IE 5.x, and Moz, on Windoze (NT and 9x) and Linux.

It could indeed be crashing when I move over the Go button. I'm not sure. Anyway, I've stopped using the Hop to function.

                        exactly.

Unfortunately Netscape has wrong hebrew support(long story) so I can only use explorer...

Yup. I've had this too, occationally. A more serious problem is that windows tend to "freeze" If I start scrolling them using the wheel before they've loaded completely. This crashes all active windows on the same domain (ie. Apolyton, in this case) if I ALT+CTRL+DELETE the frozen windows away. This never happened under 5.0...
