  • Need Help Updating Database

    Ahoy! I'm trying to update the information in the Downloads Database using the Modify a File form, but one field has me stumped:
    <center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:
    <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1>
    </font>Please enter the URL of the file you wish to update. Make sure it is identical to the one already in the database
    <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>

    Since Apolyton uses frames, the closest thing I can come to the URL of the file I'm updating is "http://apolyton.net/civ2/". Since I don't know the exact name and location of the file itself, I cannot submit the new information.

    Help! What should I do?

    Thanks!

    strange, i thought i had writen that on the modification page....

    anyway...

    go to the review page of your file. the big title(the one above the creator's name) is a link to the actual url of your file

      MarkG -

      Thanks for the response! However, clicking on the link you mentioned will not give you the full URL for the file, you just get the dialog box asking if you want to download the file ornot. If you choose to save the file to your local drive, you can see part of the path in the Saving Location dialog box, it reads:

      http://apolyton...ods/hiresv25.zip

      However, on the Modify form, the File Name field is pre-populated with:

      http://apolyton.net/civ2/db/

      Which of these paths should I use? Thanks again for your help!
