Now that it is in the right place.

In the past, similar situations have come up where people have complained about threads that are considered insensative to human tragedy. This one of those cases. Maybe if they had been American Sailors, you would understand!

look, i understand where you're coming from, but i agree with MWHC. that thread was in no way offensive. people were voicing there opinions, not intentionally trying to be mean.

It would be Bad Taste, except that it's true. The Russians sentencing 118 sailors to die a horrible death becuase of the sin of pride is something to get upset about and criticize Russia on, in my opinion. Or are we not allowed to make comments in bad taste about murderers? Or just the direct ones?

Count me as one that thought that thread was not over the line and should have stayed open. There were only a few posts that were questionable, and that could be said about almost every serious thread here.

The thread title itself - The Russians beg for help. USA! They know who's best!!- is self-evident proof of why the thread was closed. No need at all to whine or contra-whine about the actual contents of the thread. The title itself was immature, insensitive, all too predictable considering who set it up - and in very bad taste. In a nutshell: Sickening, as I believe I was the first to point out.

Count me as one who's glad that Ming stepped in and uttered the needed and necessary phrase Case closed! A bit late after 88 replies, but still...
