And yet again, another DUSGUSTING, REPULSIVE, OFFENSIVE add from UGO. How typical.

I have been neglectant, but I will soon be finding out how I can complain to UGO (MarkG and/or DanQ posted the answer on a previous complaining thread) about the content of their adds. If nothing else, I will make a case on the sexest nature of the adds. I'd be happy to find the directions, and quote them here for anyone else who woukld like to do as I will be.

There have been many other discussions on this issue. It is clear that MarkG and DanQ are partually unwilling and partually unable to take serious action agianst these adds. There have been hundreds of other posts on the subject, and it has become clear that nothing will change MarkG and DanQ's minds on this issue. If anyone would like to take up the battle on the forums, then I will happily support them, but I don't beleive that more work here will produce much.

The three ads which really need to go (in my opinion) are:
    • She wants you to be a heavyweight
    • The add which you are complaning about (I havn't seen it yet)
    • The casino add

She wants you to be a heavyweight is the most important one, in my opinion, because two versions of it have been shown, and because both versions were on for a long time. (I think the second one MAY still be on, I'm not sure.)

I've gotta go now, but I'll find the old 'Rated X Banners' thread, and post a link here. I can also find a link to another thread which I've started on the issue, but it really didn't go half as far as 'Rated X banners' did.

Marky, Danny boy, isn't it possible to find other companies whose ads aren't as offensive? Is UGO your only choice?

                    Markos,

Some of the ads are pretty questionable. Especially if one is at work. a lot of your audience likes to sneak a peek at Apoluton while on the job and ads like the heviweight ad make it hard to do so.

Unlike those ads, the Apolyton logo doesn't give your co-workers the impression that you might be visiting a porn site.

This really isn't the place to complain about any ads. If you feel like some of them should go, or that no more UGO ads should be seen around Apolyton, you really should go and tell Gamespot about it. You know, do some constructive spaming...

MarkG, you sometimes don't give yourself enough credit. I can understand that you don't agree with our oppinion, but I can't see any reasonablly intellagent person not being able to understand what we're saying. It is simple enough ---- those adds offend many people: please take them down. (NOTE: I know that apolyton doesn't control the adds that are shown, but I can't believe that there is NOTHING you can do.)

                                <center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:

There is a real problem. These adds are desgusting, inappropriate, and (to be frank) sexest. Furthermore, I could easily see these adds driving people away from Apolyton out of protest (I only stay out of respect for the rest of the site).

                                <center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:

I don't complain about the fact that you show adds. I understand that you put a lot of work into this site, and deserve to be payed. I complain about the content of certian adds, which are (as I've already said) sexest (at the very least). In this case, the fact that I haven't seen THIS ONE add means little to nothing... as long as it exists. Even if it doesn't exist, then other offensive adds do, so I'd just complain about them. To me, its a matter of what I believe in, and what I stand for.

                                <center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:

I plan to complain to UGO about the content of their adds within a few weeks. Anyone else who would like to complain is welcome to do so. I'll quote the instructions later (when I have the time to go back and find them).
