Nice feature, but a way to show the ends of quotes and a better method of showing smiles (prehaps you could have it show the appropraite smile code (;, (:, etc) is really needed before this system can be made effectave.

                  ABSOLUTELY SUPER IDEA AND FEATURE!!!

I'm off to print a clean copy of Ming's Cheat Thread in Civ 3 and Pauls OOC instructions and nearly all the Strategy forum and, and, ... I may need a new ink cartridge!

In terms of ink, would it be possible to have a plain white background instead of the shades of gray? (I assume the background prints, I haven't tried YET...) I think that the lines separating the posts is sufficent to distinguish between them. (I'll hang my head in shame if it prints black text on solid white!)

                  Again, SUPER idea!

It's a nice feature, and one that I've missed for quite a while. When I needed to print a thread in the past, I used to copy the thread into Wordpad and go through some very tedious editing to at least get a halfway readable print.

                    So this is really useful!

                      glad you find it usefull

on the 100% white background, do others think it should be that way too?

When I printed it the background didn't print as you can see in the scan I posted earlier (I use IE 5). It also doesn't print the lines around the post which makes at look as if the links at the bottom of the page are part of the last post.

I don't know if it would print differently from Netscape; maybe someone could try that and post a scan here as well.

Very nice, I think I'll redo the PDF version 'tales from the diplomatic front II (in 3d stereo)'. Those ad banners in my orginal version always bothered me.

On a white background for printing: I'm not sure, the grey blocks do help to keep the thread readable. I wouldn't drop them but a simple grey line to mark the next post might be an option.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

                            Excellent!!
The background does print for me (from IE5) but that is how I have the print options set - I believe the default is not to print backgrounds (I don't pay for my print cartridges)

You're right, there is an option in IE to set the background printing. I'll try that when I get home and see how it looks.

With the background printed it looks just like on the screen. I must say that I would prefer a white background to save ink. Otherwise I'd go broke on ink cartridges.
