Quite similar to the case when somebody created the thread "THIS THREADS TITLE IS COMPLETELY CAPITALIZED! TAKE THAT WEREFOX!", MarkG IMHO overreacts a bit. If some people like Nimrod. create 3 threads/day, is it really so critical to change the UBB code itself? So I guess this means I only need to visit Apolyton one time per day... talk about a site that will dry up. The only difference (and it's a big difference IMHO) between this site and others is the OT. It's a fun place to hang out. Or at least was.

MWHC, depending on how many good posters this feature causes trouble to, we're willing to make that 24 hours, 12 or whatever. But I dont think you will disagree that there is a problem with some people...
Narck, the script keeps a log of the people who started a new thread and compares it with the recent time to see if a day has passedComment

My opinion: I don't mind at all that you can only CREATE 1 topic a day... As long as there are no limits to the # of replies (apart from the already common flood control) I have no problems

btw, in case you did not understand it MWHC, we are talking about the CREATION OF NEW THREADS, not posting to existing ones. One can make replies to AS MANY threads as he likes....

This is outrageous. I do not deny that some spammers are out of control, but this is NOT the way to solve the problem. Some posters have legitimate questions they want answered, that would not go well together in a single thread. (Anyone who has an example, please post it below.) I would not be surprised if some posters created new DLs to bypass this limit, and I would not blame them.
If you do decide to keep this limit, please apply it to the moderators as well.

Sometimes I post a couple of threads and then none for days, you know, when I get flashes of inspiration. This could prove problematic. Some people are better at thinking up topics for debate than others. Restrict them and we could get less topics for debate. I would urge Apolyton to think this one through. I think it would be better to discipline individual Apolytoners who cause these problems than restrict everyone else. Sometimes I can have three ideas in a day, and then not make another thread for weeks, thus wasting those days. And I'd have forgotten by the day after.Speaking of Erith:
