  • Other forms of punishment than just banning

    Having read the latest anouncement, why not let people write for the column for each week of banning.
    One article, one week less banned. Of course only if the article is accepted.

    Deal is this: People get banned and informed that when they write for the column, they can get one week less. Of course only one article per banning is accepted. So you cant completely reduce your 3 weeks but at least make them 2. They write an article and get one week less. Simply isnt it?

    Would that be an idea?

    But articles are supposed to be voluntary things right? You're making it sound like punishment.

      How about just disabling people who screw around.

      I've been spending time at forums that don't have any of this whiney rebellious crap. you act like a little brat and they boot you.

                  No Mao it doesnt sound like punishment. It is a chance to do some constructive things. See, you get a week vacation if you are really annoying. So, to repair some of the "damage" you CAN contribute to the Civ community. I didnt imply you MUST write for the column. You can if you like and if you do so, your banning will be reduced by one week. Or less. 3 days for example. If you dont write for the column or your article is not accepted. Well then nothing happens.
                  Easy eh?

                    the column is meant as a way for someone to have his voice heard to the whole community. not as a way to return sooner to the OT...

                        Not a bad idea Atahualpa...
                        Giving something back to the site in return for reducing the punishment for bad acts is a great idea. They do need columns! I would certainly reduce somebodies time in Mingapulco for work done
                        Keep on Civin'

                          How often do you get banned, EvC?
                          main(i,_){for(!_||(--i,main(i+2,i["FHhhTBFHdhTBFBQT\2TBF&]zRF$hh*:FHhh+&FBIsbDF"]));

                            But then again, you can get those only-OT poters to contribute to the Civ community. And who said you would have to accept every article? I mean, if it is an article about OT. Trash it.

                              How about collecting residential addresses for all members?

                              Anyone breaking the rules will then be unable to post until their nearest Apolyton neighbour calls round and gives them a Chinese Burn.
