Yes, I am. I admit it.
But admins, before you ban me forever, listen to my story:
On March 23 (the date of my registration), I got my personal E-Mail-Adress from GMX.DE, my E-Mail-Server. So I thought "Hey, now is time for Apolyton-registration, isn't it?"... I went to Apolyton, which I already had known a long time, and wanted to register...
Actually, my E-Mail-Adress was "andz83@gmx.de". This was the adress I typed in the registration field for the E-Mail-Adress. I typed in the Username "Andz" and looked forward to become an Apolytoner...
BUT THAT DIDN'T WORK!!!
The registration engine took me to a screen that said "We already have a user registered with this Username!" Anyone else with my Username "Andz"? That sounded very strange, but I didn't give up hope.
I tried another Username, "Andz83", with the year of my birth after the actual name.
THAT ALSO DIDN'T WORK!
Now a screen appeared telling me that there was already a user registered at Apolyton with the same E-Mail-Adress "andz83@gmx.de".
But that couldn't be the case! ".de" means a German adress. "@gmx.de" means that the GMX-Server had been used, which also gave me my E-Mail-Adress... It really became more and more confusing!
Now I went to the e-mail-server and took a NEW E-Mail-Adress. "andz83@gmx.net". So now I used the ".net"-domain instead of ".de". I tried to register under "Andz83", and this time it worked.
But I was still wondering what the mistake could have been in connection with the first and the second try...
I tell you, there's in fact someone registered under the Username "Andz". BUT THIS GUY DOESN'T HAVE AT LEAST ONE POST!!!
You can find out this when you choose "profile" from the post of anyone and then change the name in the adress-line to "Andz". Also works with other names...
So the ".DE"-E-Mail-Adress was blocked because of my first try, where I used this adress. But I still don't know why I was told that the registration didn't work!
Instead of sending me the password for Apolyton, he told me that it didn't work because of another user who was already registered. But that wasn't true. I was this user, I for myself blocked my own registration ...
If you should have read until here, than you might understand the whole thing. In fact, even I don't really understand it...
But now Admins, it's time to face the truth. I'm sad that I have to use this birthdate-year because of this kind of misunderstanding with the Apolyton-server.
There are choices:
1) You deactivate both "Andz" and "Andz83" because of the Double-Login-fact. But this possibiliy wasn't really fair...
2) You close "Andz" and everything is forgotten. That wouldn't change anything.
3) Don't do anything. I could still post both as "Andz83" and "Andz" because I have the passwords of both. Wouldn't also change anything.
4) The best solution: Delete "Andz83" but transmit all his posts, postcount E-Mail-Adress, Profile-Modification and his Password to "Andz". Noone would recognize the difference, but I could sleep better.
Perhaps you can manage it that the old posts are shown as "Andz"'s posts not as "Andz83"'s posts...
