  • Question for Admins

Being an Apolyton supporter I occasionally click on the ad banners, but I always right click to open in a new window, and I often have Proxomitron on.

Do you still get click-throughs with Proxomitron and right-clicking?
    "Wait a minute..this isn''t FAUX dive, it's just a DIVE!"
"...Mangy dog staggering about, looking vainly for a place to die."
"sauna stories? There are no 'sauna stories'.. I mean.. sauna is sauna. You do by the laws of sauna." -P.

    1) thanks!
    2) we are actually payed on a per show basis
    3) clicking on an ad, isnt directly making any money for us
    4) right-clicking does make things different in any way
    5) what is Proxomitron?

Proxomitron is a program all users should have. It's an application that allows you to do many things like kill pop-ups and re-directions, OnMouseOver HTML trickery and other stuff that you sometimes run into on sites desperate for clicks. It also kills the little javascripts that scammers use to make your life bad, every see a site that when you tried to right click on it wouldn't let you? And, if you clicked on these "mystery links" no matter what the link claimed to be, it took you to porno or pay-for-traffic sites like Allclicks.com? Proxomitron kills that.

Search for it and see what it is, it's free.

It also allows some more advanced stuff like faking cookies and other information that a computer sends 'upstream' to a server or another computer, but i don't want to mess with that.

all the javascript stuff you're describing can also be done by disabling javascript(at least in netscape)

Yes, but then you have also javascript disabled, and that's something that's not that good

And what's a browser with javascript lately ?

Well, now that someone has generously provided a link, does proxomitron interfere with Apolyton's $ making?

Looking at what proxomitron does, and based on this answer:

                  <center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:
                  <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1>
</font>2) we are actually payed on a per show basis
                  3) clicking on an ad, isnt directly making any money for us
                  <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>

I would think it doesn't interfere.

Narck is correct -- it does not interfere.

                          Thanks.

It recently gave me an alarming message, something like "unauthorized IP tried to gain access" or something. It wasn't something official, 'cause I hadn't ordered anything or clicked on anything or said I would divulge info. There was no e-mail or cookie or other visible sign of information or request from another computer. Sigh, I was told that Cable Modems were a security risk because you are continuously connected. I think that some outsider has been trying to request information about my computer,..and it wasn't the ISP software, I know what it does and what its info looks like. Thank you Proxomitron.
