DanQ, as I tried to indicate in my post, not the whole song as a quote but any verse of the song could apply to Civilization.

(I think the whole song would require a lot longer then 3 seconds, maybe even longer than 5 seconds , to read)

But seriously, Masters of War, how more Civ related can you get?

Hmmm... great idea (maybe), if you've got the space on the server. And it'd slow it down somewhat.

Anyway, I've got this program on my calculator that I made called QuoteGen. Basically what it is is a bunch of random number generators and slots full of words- nouns, adjectives, verbs, endings of sentences, etc. You get stuff like "My cheese has left the building" and whatnot. It can be pretty funny.
                Just a thought.

Thanks for the link, SnowFire. Here are a couple more Shakespeare quotes, courtesy of that site:

The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Ye all which it inherit, shall dissolve
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
                  Is rounded with a sleep.
                  - Prospero, Act 4, Scene 1, The Tempest

Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war
                  - Antony, Act 3, Scene 1, Julius Caesar

                    Ay, in the catalogue ye go for men;
As hounds and greyhounds, mongrels, spaniels, curs,
Shoughs, water-rugs and demi-wolves, are clept
All by the name of dogs: the valued file
Distinguishes the swift, the slow, the subtle,
The housekeeper, the hunter, every one
According to the gift which bounteous nature
Hath in him closed; whereby he does receive
                    Particular addition from the bill
That writes them all alike: and so of men.
Now, if you have a station in the file,
                    Not i' the worst rank of manhood, say 't;
And I will put that business in your bosoms,
Whose execution takes your enemy off,
Grapples you to the heart and love of us,
Who wear our health but sickly in his life,
Which in his death were perfect.

                    Macbeth, Act 3, Scene 1.

I don't get a chance to read the quotes on most days since it doesn't stay on the screen long enough.

                            Should be:
"No plan of battle survives contact with the enemy" —Some British upper-class twit

"No poor SOB ever won a war by dying for his country. You win a war by making the other poor SOB die for his country" —George Patton

I think reismark's quote about the sixties was a George Carlin line, maybe. Which reminds me:

"If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten" —George Carlin

What a diplomat, that George Carlin!

For all the B5 fans out there:
                            "Spoo, the other blue meat!"

OK, not so Civ-ish. RAH's sig line reminded me of it
