    So why is it that only mods/admins can delete posts? People who posted them should be able to as well...

          You more or less can. Just edit your post and remove everything. People will know you posted but will not know what you posted.

              It does indeed work. Just hit the edit buttom on top of the post, and go in and delete everything in the type box. And then it the submit button. Yes, it will show that you posted something, but not what was there.

              If I'm responding to something totally stupid, and I think the person might edit it out, I will use the quote feature to insure that they can't just change it, then deny they said it.

                I once asked for the same thing... But now I've had time to think about it, I realize that this way is much better...
