I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

I don't miss the feature. If I wanted startrek quoted to me I would visit my trekkie friend.

The star trek quotes are lame indeed, but overall I kinda like the quotes.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

bah! Star Trek has many good quotes. Just because it is star trek you automatically think it's bad.

Nope, I like star trek but there were too many of them to continue to enjoy them

Methinks the opposite, if every post showed you a naked woman to think about you'd post as often as you could.

Unless you were otherwise inclined, of course. Perhaps it could be a setting in the control panel. "Sexual preference".

Don't get me wrong, I like watching Star Trek every so often.
The problem is the ST quotes are both overdone and highly inappropriate to a Civ site. Civ games end when you get to space, after all.

                      SMAC started in space.

Ok, it's technically not "civ", but it did share some of civ2's bugs at the start, so it must count.

It counts, sure, but doesn't exactly help me prove my point. Which is the major reason I didn't mention it.

Anyway, IIRC the only reason those quotes are there is they come in a standard pack which was assembled by geeks, who unsurprisingly filled it with Star Trek quotes. Weren't the few Civ ones added later?

Yep, Doc you're right and to follow up, there's been several "add quotes" threads.

Perhaps someone (Doc? ) should start another competition.

Competition on when this will be asked again? May 7th.

(btw nice debating style, Skank. You should be in the OT more often).
