                      I bet the number of people who actually actively participate in the groups for which they are members (especially the DG groups) is a lot smaller than 1000 though

                      Those would be better in the member profile pages.
                      That would make it a lot more difficult to find people to play MP with; or to find out if someone is a citizen/team member of a certain demogame (team) or not.

                        Is that 1000 unique members? Or are people in more than 1 civgroup counted multiple times?
                        I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

                              The Civgroups pages serve that purpose better, IMO.
