People could have 2 titles, a normal title and an OT title. Posts outside the OT would show the normal title (sum of posts made outside the OT) while posts inside the OT would show the OT title (sum of posts made inside the OT).

I still think it would be good for certain posters to get personalised custom titles (e.g. Hall of Famers). Titles would be given honorarily by the community and accepted by the newly entitled poster.
If accepted a mod can give the new title.

You can't change the system. Time has shown Markos only budges for "experiments". And if he gives us an experiment, we heckle him (e.g. non-loading images, those awful adverts under out avatars, see mrmitchell for the gravestone) and even stopping OT posts adding was an experiment at first.
I concur with Big Crunch that Hall of Famers should be given a more tangible status than an extra HoF vote, and their name in an election thread, and so given a custom title, or something similar to the arcade crowns at CGN.Comment
