#1 doesn't exist as far as I know - after many a spring break, I can't remember a single time where we stayed (or considered) something like that.

You really wanna be in the US if we're in the final in Berlin? Remember, in both major tournaments held in Germany so for we were in the final, it's not unthinkable we will be again... You remember '88 -- you really wanna potentially miss the biggest party in the history of our nation, if not mankind?

Besides, I'm still kicking myself for having missed WC02 due to traveling and we weren't in that one at all. All the gold in the world can't pursuade me to be anywhere but in the Netherlands or in Berlin on July 9...

I was in Italy for the first few weeks of Euro 2000. Fortunately, I came home a day before the bizarre semi-final against Italy, but generally, I had a good time there.

But let's not get ahead of things too much. We still need a confirmation from the facility. We'll see if we can re-schedule to the second half in July.

I wonder if UKers should try and get the same flight from LHR - would be fun to have a Poly contingent on a plane, challenging all the foo's in nearby aisles to Civ4 Also make getting to the hotel easier.

I'd prefer to fly from London Gatwick. Makes my life sooooo much easier than trying to get all the way to west London from where I live.

For the Americans in the group, don't forget Amtrak and Greyhound. You can get a very cheap ticket on Greyhound (it cost me less than $100 to go across the country, round trip, a couple of years ago) ... of course it takes a while to get there, but it saves a LOT of money. And Amtrak IIRC has the buy-one-get-one-free ticket deal still - so just find a fellow Apolytoner who can ride with ye, perhaps taking a bus to your specific town, and ... voila
