I am still unable to play the turn, I get an error message when I open it. Does anyone have a suggestion of how I could open the turn? I also tried it using another version of SMAC I have installed for situations like this, to no avail.Comment

Interesting...HenWen sent me his 2169 turn earlier today. I was unable even to extract it. Curiously, file size was 61.3KB(zipped). The file Hobbes just sent, also the 2161 turn for HenWen, is 74.1KB(zipped). I was able successfully to extract and to load that one as far as the PW screen.
I conclude that the dfile is being corrupted in transmission either to or from HenWen.
Have You tried to send an uncompressed file to HenWen, Hobbes?Comment

I have sent multiple zipped versions (original & replayed) as well as an unzipped version. I have updated to Winzip 8.1. Perhaps an older version might be problematic? What versions are you using?
NB. All the turns I have sent- original & replay have been at least 72 KB.
No-one in any of my other games has reported a problem.

I'm still using WinZip 7.0
HenWen is the only player in any of my games that has this type of problem. I suspect it is attributable to his universtity email system or to his install of Alpha Centauri.Comment
