  • New Tournament champion: Qantaga!

The Season 5 results of the Apolyton PBEM Tournament are out! The reason they are so ridiculously late is that I thought the season ended on 30 April , and I have been a bit lazy with getting them out. Now that the results thread was suddenly topped, though, there could be no more shirking of responsibilities.

Anyway, the activity is down a bit, and Qantaga, having won the only game that was completed this season, is the new champion. Congratulations!

There have already been two games completed in season 6 (which ends August 31), so hopefully the drop in activity is temporary.

    Comments, questions etc. are welcome.

ACT055 was completed late last year sometime...

I won a co-operative (diplomatic) victory with SITS & SpasmofIT in M.Y. 2191. Hobbes also played (he took over at a late stage for Radagast)

Wasn't that ACT051 not 55? I seem to recall the game was stopped because you were so far ahead. I certainly couldn't accept a co-operative victory on my part and I personally think it should be all yours.

        EDIT: Changed ACT052 to 51

And looking at the turn file it is dated 6/11/01

Thanks for the correction, JPJ. There is no email notification in my inbox from that time, so the reason ACT051 is not included is simply that I did not know it had ended... I depend on players telling me this, as I cannot keep track of all the threads and notice those that have gone missing.

Anyway, coop victory is now limited to a maximum of two players. Assuming you were pacted with SITS and SPasmofiT, and SITS will not accept a coop, I guess that leaves you and SPasmofiT as the winners?

No no - include SITS, he is just being modest

Well, as I said, maximum two winners. Allowing a 3-player cooperative victory when there are only 4 players makes for some very uninteresting games.

I'm not being modest at all. You were so far ahead that others were suggesting that we end the game as it was uninteresting. See the thread here for details. For me it is clear that you were the winner so I think a co-op victory is wrong.

Ok , I'll take a win on this - SpasmofiT should get a co-operative victory as he voted for me, I beleive SITS vote was nay as was Hobbes. But the will of the council was not contested , at least not enough to continue the game anyway,

                        JPJ:1
                        SPasmofit:1
                        SITS:0
                        Hobbes:0

                        This sound about right ?

                          That would be

                          John Paul Jones: 1
                          SPasmofiT: 1
                          Hobbes: -1
                          SITS: -1

unless one of the last two officially surrendered to you during the game. Minor point anyway. Will update the results thread.
