Alright... I don't know who (and/or whom), is constantly changing the in game preferences. Normally I don't mind a few changes, and everyone is entitled to their own preferences of course.

However... putting "auotomatic unit design", "always investigate monoliths", and other annoying settings - which happen before I (or whoever the next player is), has a chance to do anything about it as soon as I (or they) open their turn... THIS, I consider as both childish, and unsportsmanlike.

I'm involved in several SMAC PBEM games on two different forums. And this is the only one(game) where this is occuring...
By process of elimination, it will not be difficult to figure where this is comming from...

If you are having trouble with the controls, or understanding how the preferences menu functions. Then ask me, or whomever you feel comfortable with (Qantaga immediately comes to mind), for help. I have found a lot of kind people here (at Apolyton) who we're more than willing to help me when I had troubles. I will gladly carry that on myself.

If you are doing this as a prank or for amusement, then - it has ceased to be so...

Everyone here has my e-mail address, please feel free to communicate with me on this, or any other topic concernig this game.

We are all investing a certain amount of time in this, let us make it an enjoyable experience for all !

              Sincerly,
              Krysia's Krusader

Hey KK, I guess I'm the guilty person, although I can assure you I had no idea that preferences were shared by all players.

Personally, I thought someone was messing with my preferences, and changing them every turn, so I couldn't see the names of my bases or what each one was producing.

Since this seems to be a big issue, we'll have a vote on the preferences. If anyone wants to add, to this list go ahead.
Simply vote yes or no for each, my vote is in brackets.

                    1. auto unit design (yes)
                    2. always investigate monoliths (yes)
                    3. see base names on map (yes)
                    4. see base production on map (yes)

p.s. is there some bonus for not investigating a monolith?

Is the preferences shared by all players? I thought it was not shared.

                      The below is my vote:

                      1. auto unit design (no) yes is ok too.
                      2. always investigate monoliths (no) but this I must choose no.
                      3. see base names on map (yes)
                      4. see base production on map (no) yes is ok too. And I have not seen this options.

To investigate monoliths can exhaust a unit's move points.
But sometimes we only want to pass it. And someone like to investigate monoliths later to make unit get elite status.

auto desing NO- it just fills the shop with uneeded rabish
allways inbestigate NO- i would like it but i wouldn tlike to forse others
                          see base name YES
see base production YES-it is esential to take care of production to plan the game , and doing it through menus when you have many citys is exoustig and anoing.

                              10 to kk.

                              Here are the preferences now.

                              1. no auto design or auto prune.
                              2. no always investigate monoliths
                              3. see base names on map on
                              4. see base production on map on
                              5. fog of war off(what exactly does this do?)
                              6. confirm odds before attacking on (this is critical for me in making my attack decisions, so i hope this isn't a total nuissance to others)

p.s. plz ask on this thread if you'd like to make any adjusments to these preferences, and we'll all have a vote.
