        • Darsnan wrote me that he sent the 2132 to JPJ at ~ 23:40 GMT on 14 April to JPJ. Just re-sent.

          • Yep, I received that and sent 2132 on to Knowhow2 (15/04/02 @ 5:32) but didn't post here as the site was down.

            Just in case the e-mail didn't get through to you K2 i'll put it up here:

                • Turn to Aborman.

                  Woah, what HAS the hive been up to? Double the power to the 2nd ranked faction...

                    • The Chairman would remind the Chief Executive Officer that it is his faction which is second in the ratings race and that the Hive has held true to it's promise of peace and free trade with his corporation since 2104 allowing both factions to flourish.

                      However:
                      It is only possible to win a cooperative victory with a maximum of 3 players. Although the University have surrendered, it will not been seen as such by the AI as a submissive and so will count in this tally.

                      This is also assuming the cooperative victory switch is on, Darsnan ?

                        Well that is a very interestnig question. I dug up the thread that we started this game with:

                        and it does not specifically mention this aspect here. Also, I cannot find my original notes for this game, so cannot tell you for certain whether I set this option to on or off.

                        • Not to worry, I'm guessing you started the game with standard rules since blind research is on...in which case it would be enabled and unfortunately would also mean that Do or Die (don't restart eliminated players) is off which is going to make my job a lot harder thank you very much !

                          • Hmmm. How interesting. I wonder if do or die off gets around the 'ending the game upon the elimination of a human player bug'? If so, it would be a simple matter for the CMN to disband the respawned units. Advantage would be that no turns were skipped and that the conquerer wouldn't be deprived of that last base. Must test.

                            • errrh...ahh...yes - that's what i meant of course . Instead of playing on you could just arbitrarily decide you have been defeated !

                              Only problem with this (if it is agreed on) is i don't think the AI will restart a faction if either:

                              * There is no land left outside factional borders

                              * It is after 2200

                              ( but the way the Hive is playing at the moment this is likey to be a redundant issue )

                              • I quite agree. Actually, I'm ready to concede this game just as soon as I burn Ironholm to the ground.
