You can send me Tai Mai Shu's turn and I'll play it until he gets back

        So we'll start today. Brilliant!

I guess I am the first in the round, being the Hive. What do I have to do? Do I start the game or do you send it to me after you started it? Or is there an external guy setting it up and sending it to me? Please let me know what you've planned...

My email is audax@bigfoot.com. How do I get yours? (Playing University you will be right behind me, so I'll send my turns to you)

I won't be here GMT 1600, but check the site later today.

        MM

Looking at the list it looks like Tai Mai Shu (or me as stand in) is first up. But I'm sure this is a list of playing order.

I guess there is some confusion here. I thought we were talking about a PBeM game not an IP game....

                      AGHHHH

Well, as it seems that there's been some mistake in the IP/PBEM thing, I think we should set other time to start it. (If you all still wanna play already knowing its an IP game). I'm open for any time you all like.

Yep yep, we're all rookies, well mostly, so of course there's going to be some confusion....I forgot in my thread that turn order is determined by the factions and can't be set up by me...anyways, looks like I'm left with Miriam or Santiago. I'll try Miriam this time (cough mutter splutter, wince). PBEM seems to be the favored style. I've checked out some IP sites and theres never a SMAC game going on. PBEM makes more sense anyways..games are long and slow, so it wouldn't be sensible to all be hovering online waiting for one person to take a move. So, I'm posting 15 minutes after you....you can send me my turn anytime, but might be a good idea to make a timeframe for taking a turn...Deirdre's first, correct?

There is a website here that has list of active players for IP games so you might want to go along to there. Also a lot of games are arranged via ICQ so you might want to look there.

If you still want to start a PBeM game then I suggest you get a moderator to set one up for you.

                            Hi,

I assume PBEM means play by email, I assume IP means online. Cryptic stuff to me.

But I can only advise the email variety. It leaves a lot more freedom and flexibility and give the additional beauty of a bit of mail comments alongside the game.

So, Lord Icewind, I suggest you go ahead and list who plays what faction (in the order of play) and exactly what rules have to be selected. Then you either start the game yourself and mail it to the first player, or tell that player to go ahead and start it according to your specified settings, or find an outside moderator to do it for all of us. Should not be too hard, as long as everything is clearly listed. I could suggest Rastapopolus as a potential candidate for starting the game. His email would be flogae@gmx.de (just in case you don't know anyone who can do this).

Let's get started, the sooner the better. This will take several years anyway....

                            Cheers, Mars
