Hmm, just had a repost from Tau Ceti in regard to turn 2128. I received the original on 1/7 and posted it to SPasmofit on 2/7 to both his addresses.

I think I didn't post it here as the server was down... I will repost my original turn to SPasmofit.

Note: When I tried to save the game, the save window showed the contents of the CD drive, not the hard drive! There was no way to change directories. (Has anyone else had this problem?) Obviously, I can't save to a CD and in my attempts to cancel, SMAC crashed. So you may get a reload-turn message.

                          • You CAN change directories... double-click the ".." option at the top of the file list

                            ;-)

                            • Yes, but you can only change directories, not devices, that way.

It has happened to me too once. Nothing to do about it once it happens, but you can avoid the problem by going into your Alpha Centauri.ini and setting Windowsfilebox=1. The game will then use the standard windows file requestor (which allows you to change devices) instead of SMAC's built-in one.

                              2130 to Gaians.
