2146 to Hobbes....following the passing of the great Secret Project, the Virtual World, Markite citizens shall have to be content with the Planetary Transit System instead. While this will not provide the entertainment facilities of the VW, it also opens the door for an expansionist regime over the coming years.

Also, Provost Mark is said to be "hopeful" about completing the Human Genome Project within the next three years.

                2147 to Hobbes....

Despite the setback of missing the VW, we are hopeful that the HGP will go some way to repairing the damage. It is also reported that with the recent completion of the PTS, the Markite economy is moe vibrant than ever!

                  Turned to Mark.

Yes, having the PTS must be nice, especially since you're killing me on population & base number already. Anyway, such is life, you can't build every SP!

                        2148 to Hobbes....

                        In the news this year:

Markite citizens grow hopeful, as the Human Genome Project nears completion. The HGP, otherwise known as the poor half-brother of the VW, will nevertheless aid the good Provost in his expansion efforts.

Also, a Markite unity rover has landed on the coast near Gnosis I. Provost Mark has once again extended his warm hand of friendship out to the Hobbits, and offered a pact. It is not known how this will effect the relative economies of the two factions, but it will provide data for both faction leaders on the other's progress.

If we were online 24/7 we would have finished in less than a week.
It's true ... as it was, all that staying up until the wee small hours to catch you before you went to work *really* did me in

                            On to Mark once more.

Given their current position & the belief that a Pact would benefit their opponants more than themselves, it has been declined.

                            Hobbes.

If we were online 24/7 we would have finished in less than a week. Actually, we might have really been able to do that if we just lived in the same time zone.

2149 to Hobbes - it seems the Hobbits have no interest in the future of humanity. As such, the rover will continue the exploration mission into Hobbes territory

Also in the news, Markite citizens celebrate the completion of the HGP, and excitement grows as we approach the discovery of Environmental Economics. The 10-yearly census, scheduled for next year, should boost morale among Markite citizens.
