Prophet cbn calls the Planetary council
(In accordance with procedures outlined in other threads I am announcing the voting status so all players know what is going on and can bribe or make deals appropriately-- Its kind of moot here since my competition is the AI unless someone else grows to 8 on their turn)

So it is 8 to 8 between Zak and I.
The procedure, as I understand it, is that each of us should update this type of table as we go since the number of votes you have can change if your population grows. In theory, if two humans are vying for governorship, it gives everyone an equal shot to bargain for their votes.

One question: The Drones have yet to vote. Next turn, however, it looks like I will be the #2 player, thus the canidicy would **** to me. How would that work?

Commodore Gibson stood at the table. He addressed the council.
"Hello, all. I'm glad to see all of you made it. Once again, I tell you why I think that the good Leader of the Cult of the Planet, cbn, should be governor of the Planet. As you know, our great Captain John Garland is dead, killed in the blast of the last pod. Because of this, and because of our differing ideas of what the future should hold, we won't place a ruler over all of us. Still, we need some nominal government. The two most powerful faction on Planet are nominated here, and, of the two, I think cbn is best suited as governor. It is important to protect this planet, as this place is our life untill we go back into space.

I have seen situations where players went on and off the ballot as the turn moved from player to player. If you would grow to 8 next turn it would not matter but I think if you had grown this turn to 8 you would have then seen your own name on the ballot. You and subsequent players could vote for you but players between the elction caller and you would not have that option. The rules for elections make it important to be 1st or second from the start.
