LOL - I hadn't noticed that - saw that I wasn't prompted for a tech, but assumed that I wouldn't be till 2106 or something

It will make for an interesting game, with no beelines

          Who has put a password?
          Have you got the idea?

            The turn order was:

            Jaques de Carufel
            Rynn
            Mark13
            XWaste
            Vultur

V can't open the game as somehow XWaste has saved it with the Pirates' password blocked off.

XWaste - can you replay the turn and resend to Vultur (we'll overlook the multiple play message).

The game moved smoothly from JdC thru me and mark13 to you, so the problem lies in your pass off to Vultur (and I know you are in other PBEMs so it's unlikely that you would save & exit incorrectly, but for the pbem newcomers in the group bear with me and I'll walk us through the process.)

            First time opening the game:

when you load for the first time, you will get a scxreen that is headed next player turn...Captain Svensgaard of the pirates....Mission year 2101....set password or press enter

insert a password and hit "OK" do not hit "enter", do not hit "save and exit".

A fresh screen will load that says Password....please verify new password

reinsert the password you have just created and hit OK

The game should now be loaded for you to play the turn

saving the game and passing on the turn:

hit "turn complete "when you have finished the turn

A screen will pop up that says Next Player Turn, etc....set password or press enter: with the further option of:
[b[save and exit[/b] or [OK[/b] being offered. Choose the "save and exit" option, entering nothing at the password prompt, save the file, zip it, and pass it on to the next in sequence (the gfaction was indicated on the save and exit screen that had come up just before you saved and exited.

Vultur: It sounds like you hit an "enter" somewhere along the line, or inserted a password then didn't confirm it when prompted. I can't see XWaste saving and exiting with a password (maybe, tho...)

Anyway, XWaste - can you replay and resend making sure there is no password that blocks Vultur?

Yeah, it went to turn 2102 when I finished, so Vulturs password has already been set.

I think JCD may have inadvertantly set the password. The first start turn screen he would have seen would have been Vulturs, so he would have had to go through that turn to play his.

                Hmmm

If you had just hit "OK" when your turn finished, you would have catapulted right into JdC's opening base screen.

"Enter" would have done the same thing.

Only "Save and Exit" would have seemed like the normal action - but that wouldn't have given rise to any problems.

                Strange.

Anyhow - looks like another restart - good job we had just played one turn

It's not exact Rynn: I've already played turn 1: but I've not pressed Enter key at the end of my turn. After I've sent the game to Jacques...without a thought.
                  But...
when I've recived the game I could not play...why? maybe where was an error and maybe Jacques has tiped a password... for my game!

                    End of the problems!
JdC has sent to me his password...and it worked for my game!
I've played 2102 and sent correctly to JdC.

Our watering site has no particulary resources, but our mineral extractors provide us for the first step of the colonization of the seas. Port Vultur is the confirmation that our efforts are effective.
After a Datalink's access' error, resolved with an University help, we have lost the connection from all the rest the human kind.
                    Now we are alone.

                      2102 on to Mark13

native lifeforms seem to be unfriendly towards our overtures, resulting in our scout patrol having to flame one of ghe MindWorm variety. The resulting cache of Planetpearls was sufficient to enable the terraformer assembly to be completed.

Our nomadic colony pod commander has reported finding an ideal site for a second base and is currently unloading the convoy materials.

After days of struggle, we have found ourselves beached on a coast. Beached, with but a unity foil and a scout patrol as assistance. However, we must gather our resources and expand. Though our land may be scarce, we must make the best of it.

                            From Captain's Personal Diary
The memories of our homeword, the Earth, are slowly vanishing in front of the dangerous dark waters of these oceans. Yesterday our unique Gunfoil unit has found an Unity Pod, but an Isle of the Deep has already selected these wreckages as home. After a long and cruel battle our Gunfoil has destroied the Isle...
but the cost in human life was too high.
We have used part of the Pearl of the Planet to hurry our first production on Chiron: a Gunfoil. Our scientistes have now enough energy to begin their studies; I've decided that our first interests is the defence and the exploration.
I hope that the results are soon available.
