Have a question you all might be able to answer. I do not own a copy fo the Alpha Centuri game. I've been thinkning about getting one. I've read the box. It has multi-player (obviously) and PBEM (that is what you are all doing). Does it have a hot seat option. My family, friends and I play CTP I and CIV II (Tot) hot seat games all the time. PBEM and internet player is not what we play (nothing wrong with it, I'm sure). If the game has the Hot Seat option (not stated on the box), I will buy it. The rest of the stuff I've read on the game sounds interesting.

Yep, as a matter of fact hotseat games can be played in exactly the same way as e-mail games. All you have to do is download the patch (you can't do it in v1.0), which can be found here, at Apolyton.
