  • Thats okay, I've never lost a base like this before.. too bad its a nice big base right in the middle of my empire.. sigh

    • There is something about Library of Planet. In ACT007 (which I lost badly), korn469's Library of Planet also revolted, and joined me. I guess that is where all the people who do not really want to join the University settle.

I am not very satisfied about my own play lately; I have been trying to minimize my weaknesses rather than maximize my strengths. Trying to rectify that now, but it shows that my weaknesses are pretty strong... oh well, we will see how it goes.

      • This is just a very weird game, I think Fun though ...

Next turn sent to Tig, and I guess you can have your base back, since you asked so nicely

        • Turn has been passed back to Tau Ceti. The University government is extremely pleased we were able to come to terms with our citizens and the logical Consciousness Democracy.

In other news, rumor has it that the first orbital satellites will be launched early next year over University soil.

Did not see that one until now. But I am sure you understand what I meant.

I got the name of the University base wrong too.

Glad to see I am not the only one to slow down my research...

            • 2160 has been passed to Tig.

The Consciousness has no wish to offend our friends in the University by seeking to retain a windfall base. And any way, we're feeling magnanimous. Research into the Theory of Everything is nearing a breakthrough.

              • Three satellites launched from University territory today all achieved a stationary orbit according Chiron Today. Rumors that these "agricultural" satellites were also being used as spy facilities were flatly denied by University officials and refused further comment on the subject.

                • 2161 to Misotu.

There is currently a major gathering of all Morganic linguists at Morgan Transport. Rumours say they are working on some top-secret project, but there is nothing official yet.

                  • Consciousness scientists expressed satisfaction at the "Theory of Everything" launch conference. Consciousness research rates have now received a much-needed boost.

                    2161 passed to the University.

                    • That research rate is indeed quite respectable. Even at 100 % Labs, I would not get near it, and in spite of the Universal Translator, I am already 4 techs behind. I do have population and a decent cash flow, but that is about it.

                      • Well, speaking as the faction who has pathetic pop, rotten growth, precious little cash flow and zip defence, I just want you to know that I have spent milliseconds today wondering how to correct these problems.

                        (computes data)

                        Problem insoluble.

                        (contemplates teeny empire)

Nope, nothing much to hope for from there.

(Meditates for a while on green line at the bottom of the power graph)

OK. Nothing else for it. Alpha Prime gets a fusion lab. If nothing else, it'll make me feel better Anyway, I never did get round to playing the OCC ...

                        gulp.

Congrats on the Universal Translator CEO.

                        2162 sent to Tig.

                        • Turn is back to the Governor, Tau.

                          • Again, it seems everyone is deeply worried... I guess that means it still reasonably balanced then

Anyway, you are certainly not the only one depending on one city here, Mis. I have a feeling that a PB on one of Alpha Prime, Morgan Industries or University Base would pretty much ruin that faction.

Of course, it looks likely that Alpha Prime will also build the Network Backbone. Ouch. I do not even want to think about that.

                            • Looking at one person who has nearly double my population and another player who has nearly 4 times my research, I'm not feeling all that hot about this game right now...

Let it be known, that since our position is so seemingly innocent, Provost Tig has already started campaigning for planetary governorship in the '66 election coming up.
He's running on a platform of free trade and increased military spending against the progenitors.

                              • Yes ... I want to take this opportunity to advise each of you formally that, if anyone starts to build a Buster, I will execute a merciless pre-emptive strike with my scouts

Turn seems to have gone astray I'm afraid. Have emailed Tau to request a resend.
