  • Player Looking For A Game

    Greetings to one and all....

I am looking for a PBEM game for SMAC or
    for SMACX.

I have been playing for some time and I have
played almost all factions. Very flexible with
desired settings although I prefer no aliens as
    they unbalance the game tremendously.

If anyone has a game starting then please let me
    know.

I prefer to play the following factions in order.

    1: University
    2: Gaians
    3: Pirates
    4: Data Angels

Let me know if more choices are required.

    Regards

    Hi there DaRanger

You might want to consider posting to the tournament signup thread if you're looking for a game. More information about the tournament can be found here, games are available at all difficulty levels and on a range of maps, including random map with usual start conditions and the tournament maps, which have slightly accelerated starts (extra colony pods/formers/scouts to get the game moving more quickly).

Don't be put off by the fact that it's called a tournament - the scoring system is really just for fun and you can play as many, or as few, games as you like. There's no knock-out system or anything. The main advantage of joining the tourny is that you will have the assistance of our CMN, Tau Ceti, who sets up the game and keeps the passwords of all the players. So if someone drops out of the game half-way through, it's always possible to get someone else to take over.

Hope you decide to sign up

Thank you for your fine advertisement, Mis! Indeed, I would be happy to get you in a game or several if you wish to join our (very informal) tournament. I have bumped the signup thread now; if you prefer, you can instead send the info I request directly to me at larsheg@sensewave.com .

Misotu made quite a good summary of the various settings we play, however the link she gave is somewhat outdated, dating back to April or thereabouts. The most recent version of the rules and settings can be found here. You will be pleased to see that there are no Progenitors in most of our games ; on the tournament map, they start on a continent of their own each and will not be able to overrun any player in the first turns.

If you have any questions that are not answered there, feel free to ask here or on email. Hope you join us!
