2150 to Enigma.
I must say that I had also forgotten about economic victory. It's something I never use in my SP games. To bad for you that Mis started pop booming at the wrong time and now that I also started booming you would have to save a lot more money to corner the market.

Grr.. Too bad this is SMAC and not SMACX. Say goodbye to being anywere near the front.. citizens of Morganland.
I was at about +450 credits a turn... it would have been only 3-4 more turns before the cost jumped. It would be quite a strain on me to have to run at SE like that for more than 5-6 years, after that jump it would have been more like 8-12 years, perhaps even more. You would have figured it out eventually, and since it takes 20 years to corner the market I am NOT prepared to fight both of you in a TOTAL WAR for the 20 years plus whatever when you did figure it out. This map... is too close for comfort. That is also why I started building garrisions, in anticipation of the coming waves of invaders. But having my entire empire deprived of tech and cash for such a huge period of time would put me behind.. too much of a gamble for me.
I had a good chance at winning though.. until that cost just jumped. I guess I thought you two would figure it out anyway, kinda pleased with my own deviousness
Blah not being able to pop boom is not feeling nice right now.. especially on a map where I can not ICS very easily. I have opened 2 pods containing 6 worms each in the past 10 years or so, Mis is outexpanding me like crazy, my prospects of actually doing anything this game are pretty low
Now I almost wished that I had not told you.. I really assumed that you knew I was on my way to market cornering. By the way does anyone here know when the other players get the actual message that the market is about to be cornered? I have never had it happen to me... is it like 10 years after it is initiated?
