Multiplayer system

Hi.

I havent played SMAC for a while. I remember that when I played on LAN before, It used to get stuck some times. (Out of sync?) Had anyone had similar problem, and if yes, was it patched?

If anyone has a link about multiplayer in SMAC more thoroughly explained please share it with me.
