clan ? suppose going to the democracy room and joining in with other people would be considered a clan aka Faction. This is where several people control 1 faction by taking votes and stuff on what to do next.

As for Democracy games their are 2 right now both of which are SMAC expantion. The Team Game which has 5 teams, the Hive, Cycon (I am in the Cycon), University, Pirates, Drones and an AI Miriam and Angels. This is around turn 50 and has been going for several months, a turn takes about a week to play and each team has a Private Forum. The other game consisists of all the human players controling the Hive with the deck staked VERY heavily against them to make it interesting. Anyone is welcome to join either of these games (but you need to get authorized to get into the Private Forums of the Team game), they are excelent learning experiences for most players.Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers.
