  • Multiplayer Scenario Library ?

I wondered are there good/great Smac/x MP scenarios out there from a few years back that could be re used by new players or by players who didn't get into the games because it was a 4 player tournament game or whatever.

Even games nearing completition now or long stalled, perhaps the authors could place the starting turn in the library and new players could choose from the factions already in place.

Obviously placing a MP scenario into the library is voluntary. As a matter of interest what do the experienced MP game designers normally do with a game scenario set up after it starts.

If there is already such a repository, great, point me in the direction of the thread and kick my ass.

If not It would be interesting to hear views. Naturally games would be categorised by number of players starting and game parameters. Game scenarios played to completion or ended might also feature testimonials from the original players.

It seems a waste that what seem interesting games (from looking at the game set up threads) currently playing but launched 18 months ago should be unavailable to others.

The idea of the library is more a less a place for 'off the shelf' MP scenarios.

If people like the idea (provided it doesn't already exist) I am willing to email/PM authors regarding lodging their MP game(s). However I imagine it would need a moderator at King or Emperor level to check the game donated for errors, bugs or design flaws.

An after thought. Maybe creators don't want to donate their scenarios just quite so freely , meaning they would like their off spring to go to good homes and check/veto who has access.
So if a direct access library is not on may'be renowned creators such as Buster, Tau Ceti, Googlie could forward a contact address to the thread where such scenarios can be obtained.

This way the authors /creators obtain the due credit and acknowledgement for the considerable work put into designing a game, and they also control accesss if they wish.

If they personally don't want the day to day hassle of supervision and holding passwords. maybe they could delegate that role to a moderator.
