Upkeep: Preliminary HELP!

Hi, my roommate and I have been trying to play together but we always seem to run into an "error". After about 5 minutes or so of gameplay, we both receive this message across the top of the screen about preliminary upkeep. Neither one of us can move and we do not know what to do to keep plyaing.

Is there a setting that I (the host) need to change? If you need more info, let me know, because we both cant wait to go against each other. Oh, and we are connected through our network so we use the TCP/IP multiplayer option. And Id look in teh manual, but I seem to no longer have it So any help would be greatly appreciated

sounds like a multiplayer problem - try asking in the SMAC multiplayer forum (more likely to know)...

Send Googlie a PM. He is in Scotland right now, so it might take a couple of days for him to respond. We have had the same problem occasionally with IP games. I think he might have figured out the cause and a fix.
