Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Playing patch 4 SMAC, Gaians, Specialist level. I've got the prerequisite Secrets of Alpha Centauri but there is no option to build the Temple of Planet in the appropriate screen.
Also in smac, if you have not applied the patch, it will not let you build it until the voice of planet has been built.

Have you checked to see if the list is too long to fit on one screen?

I had that problem when I was still running with the unpatched version and wondered why there was no mention of this in the forum (if there was/is, it was buried somewhere in the dark ages. However, for me, the patches fixed the problem and I could then build them if the game went that long. I don't remember whether or not it was patch 4 or some earlier one; it shouldn't matter as they are supposed to be cumulative (but you never know). Have you checked to see if you really are running the patched version or not; perhaps the patch didn't get installed in the right place or something like that - just click on Menu/Help/"Show Version nunber". I assume that you built your Centauri Preserve in the same base in which you are hoping to build the Temple, but in case you didn't, I thought I might as well mention that too.
One last thing - it quite possibly wouldn't let you build a ToP in a game that was started in the unpatched version, only in a game that was started after the patch was installed as it may store some key ingredient of the bug in the game file.

There are different patches to smac and smac-x. I play them or different machine, and thus do not play smac on the machinge with smac-x installed. So I am not sure if you need to apply the smac 4.0 patch as well as the smac-x 2.0 patch to your samc-x/smac installation.

Thanks johndmuller - it was indeed the problem with the version. For some reason terran.exe from Patch 4 was not copied with the other new files into the SMAC directory when I did the install of the patch.
BTW continuing the game saved with the original version works fine, with ToP available at all the valid bases.
