  • Alien Victory Condition

Is there any way of disabling those SOBs Alien from calling their big mamas from home . Of course I mean Subspace Generator victory.

Their victory condition isn't listed in the options before you start the game (conquest, diplomatic, etc.). I wanted a game where I could peacefully research my way to transcendance when they started building sub communicators!

So is there any way of disabling this victory (not only for this purpose obviously - scen. editor, additional challenge...)? COuld it be another way of calling it a Cunquest Victory?

The best way of preventing a Progenitor victory I know is called "nerve gas".

But if you are set on a peaceful building game, D13 is a late game kind of thing. You should be able to Transcend before they get the tech to call home.

But what if you were building a scenario in which someone could completely skip the original story and aims of the scenario by completing the "ET phone home" victory?

Edit the alphax.txt and make the subspace generator unavailable by changing it's tech pre-req. That should do the trick.

Why do need to have the aliens in the game at all?
It's close to midnight and something evil's is lurking in the dark.
