I used to play vanilla (ie unmodded) SMAX rules, as the Hive. The highest score I got was somewhere around 808%, and that was less than I could have gotten had I not become unbearably bored.

Transcend is the only level I ever play on now. The AI factions are too easy to beat.

Just played and finished my 4th game last night. On transcend, playing that one city challenge. Choose angels, stockpiled probe teams and missiles. Killed everyone with the missiles. On a tiny planet, I just wiped out everyone's military, even the pirates with those missiles. Hurried Ascent to Transcedence in one turn, and still have 78,000 energy credits to spare. Good thing random events were turned off.

I've finished plenty of Transcend SP games. I don't have the time, sadly, for a MP game, so I guess I'll never know.

My best game was with the Drones. 511% with 5453 points in MY 2415. I was using a map I downloaded that was larger than Huge and I controlled all but one enemy base. I controlled so much it was obscene. Frankly, I wish I never played it because it's impossible to beat with any normal means.

I'd say my next best 'real' game was with the Gaians with 420% and 4483 points in MY 2379. It was the Huge Map of Planet and I'd annihilated everyone except the Cult, who were stuck in the water.

Like post people who've posted, I only play Transcend now because it's the only game with any challenge.
It's really Synthetic God... I guess I didn't notice my own typo.

My Hall of Fame contains 35 games, with 34 played at Transcend level. I remember my first transcend-level game. I was most worried about drones, so I played with the Peacekeepers. Won fairly easily, if I recall correctly. The key for me to play at Transcend was reading Vel's guide and this forum. Also, you need to micromanage your formers and bases, IMO

There are only three games in my Hall of Fame so the best score is poor 11056 with Lal and 985 percent. I tend to be better, but I played this out of boredom.

Well, now I know how lazy I am, seeing that you guys win dozens of times. Maybe if I actually play the game, I would win. But finishing a game for me, even if I am winning by a land slide is hard, as I just never feel like it.

If you're winning by that much, just elect yourself Supreme Ruler and have a diplomatic victory. That's what I do when I'm sick of dominating the AI.

Just won my first game at transcend level, at my first attempt. I wouldn't have thought it possible a few months ago, but reading these forums has certainly helped a lot.

                        Congratulations

Want to boast about it a bit, tell us where, when, who, how it felt? Go on, go for it. There's not many places on the net where people would understand, let alone give a damn

I usually don't consider winning because I always win ascent to Transcedence. Of all the four games I have ever finished, 3 were ascent to Transcedence. So I don't feel like getting to the end of the tech tree, and I don't feel like winning any other way.

you know, I don't think I've ever won a regular transcend game.

I almost always play on Thinker level.

But I have beaten scenarios on Transcend level.

I probably could win if I played the University. They are my best faction. My play style really fits with them. Although I probably would struggle a bit. I doubt I would be able to build the hunter-seeker. Especially if I'm using blind research- which I do now days.

I did try to win as the hive. But my research was horribley out of date. I couldn't keep up.

Managed to win in 2433 with a score of 3901 (365%), as the Peacekeepers. I got a diplomatic victory, with me having about 65-70% of the votes (so I didn't need many votes from the other factions). Having abundant lifeforms helped get a higher score . I also found out how useful Free Market can be, which reminded me of when I first started using Democracy on Civ.
Thanks everyone who's advice helped me win

Hint: use Ironman for 100 percent increase of score.
