High Quality Strategy Games?

Hey, dudes. Long time no write.

I need your help. I really, really like turn based strategy wargames and want to expand beyond the Civ-esque universe (wonderful though it be). I've checked out the top-100 rating you can link to from the Apolyton site, but hardly any of them were up my ally (though Star Empires IV is very interesting).

Please post here with your recommendations on really good wargames/strategy games.

There is a free download of "The Ardennes Offensive 2" available at www.ssg.com.au

I don't know if this would be up your alley or not, but it is definetley turn based strategy reminescent of the old Avalon Hill board games. Give it a try at least and after all it is free.

Europa Universalis - brand new. No it isn't turn-based, but it isn't a click fest either. Other gamers have talked about it like it's super advanced Civ 2, even though it's real time. Completely adjustable real time.
